ABSTRACT

Oil, Watercolor, Colored Pencil

Exploring the magic of everyday life through imagination, movement, and color - transitioning into abstract work was challenging but extremely freeing. As a young artist classically trained in observation, I fixated on replicating the tangible in photorealism. While I excelled technically, I often judged myself based on my ability to copy rather than create.
I now use observation as a tool to pull inspiration, rather than subject, from the world around me. Color theory, patterns, geometric and biological forms, plants and animals. My work emphasizes the synergy between divine spirit and natural order. As humans, our time on earth is short-lived and ever-changing. While we are insignificant in the grandiose of the universe, we also have a huge capacity for growth, collaboration, and connection. Resolving the pursuit of love and happiness by finding it within ourselves is essential in a world crazed by greed, violence, and tragedy. My experimentation with abstract art has become not only a form of ephemeral self-expression but a way to bring forth love and magic into the physical realm.
